The following are the new entry requirements for travellers to New Zealand, which took effect on January 18, 2021.
• Passengers traveling to New Zealand from any destination except Australia, Antarctica and some Pacific Island countries and territories will be required to undergo 0/1 testing upon arrival starting from Monday January 18, 2021.
• Travellers will continue to be required to stay in Managed Isolation and Quarantine (MIQ) facilities for at least fourteen (14) days and will be tested again on day 3 and day 12. Pre-Departure Testing (PDT) requirements will also be introduced to all countries in the near future and will require passengers to have evidence of a negative pre-departure COVID – 19 test result, taken no more than seventy-two (72) hours before the scheduled departure time of the first international leg of their journey to New Zealand.
The above-mentioned new measures are designed to keep COVID-19 out of New Zealand, including the new emerging variants.
