The following are the  new entry requirements for travellers to New Zealand, which took effect on January 18, 2021.

Passengers traveling to New Zealand from any destination except Australia, Antarctica and some Pacific Island countries and territories will be required to undergo 0/1 testing upon arrival starting from Monday January 18, 2021.

Travellers will continue to be required to stay in Managed Isolation and Quarantine (MIQ) facilities for at least fourteen (14) days and will be tested again on day 3 and day 12. Pre-Departure Testing (PDT) requirements will also be introduced to all countries in the near future and will require passengers to have evidence of a negative pre-departure COVID – 19 test result, taken no more than seventy-two (72) hours before the scheduled departure time of the first international leg of their journey to New Zealand.

The above-mentioned new measures are designed to keep COVID-19 out of New Zealand, including the new emerging variants.
