When The Governor-General, Prime-Minister, Members of Parliament or Members of the Diplomatic Corps are invited to official functions, the correct seating arrangements should be adopted as much as possible.  The following are hints and suggestions that can be applied.

  1. The senior guest is always placed to the right of the host.

  2. The senior’s Aid is always to the back (slightly right).

  3. Guests should be mixed as much as possible at none meeting type functions.

  4. Always seek the permission of the Most senior guest to include others in the seating arrangement.

  5. At a dinner, the senior guest is always served first and should be allowed to commence.
